Teacher Salary Survey 2007
Wyoming ranked 16th in the nation for its average teacher salary in 2006-07, according to the American Federation of Teachers’ (AFT) Survey and Analysis of Teacher Salary Trends 2007.
The average teacher salary in Wyoming for the 2006-07 school year was $50,771—a 17.4 percent increase from the previous year. Wyoming was ranked fifth in the nation for beginning teacher salaries, at $40,084, an increase of 24.3 percent from 2005-06.
Traditional public school teacher salaries for other states in the Rocky Mountains Region ranked as follows: Colorado was ranked 28th in the nation, at $45,832; Idaho was 30th, at $45,094; Montana was 44th, at $41,146; and Utah was 49th, at $37,775.
California had the highest average teacher salary, at $63,640, while South Dakota reported the lowest, at $35,378. |
