Teacher Salary Survey 2007

Idaho ranked 30th in the nation for its average teacher salary in 2006-07, according to the American Federation of Teachers’ (AFT) Survey and Analysis of Teacher Salary Trends 2007.

The average teacher salary in Idaho for the 2006-07 school year was $45,094—a 3.9 percent increase from the previous year. Idaho was ranked 41st in the nation for beginning teacher salaries, at $30,000, an increase of 9.1 percent from 2005-06.

In Idaho, the average salary for charter school teachers was $42,978; beginning charter school teachers’ salaries averaged $30,000.

Traditional public school teacher salaries for other states in the Rocky Mountains Region ranked as follows: Wyoming was ranked 16th in the nation, at $50,771; Colorado was 28th, at $45,832; Montana was 44th, at $41,146; and Utah was 49th, at $37,775.
