Qualifications:
1. Master’s Degree required in
Education.
2. Valid Arizona State Teaching
Certificate and Arizona State Principal
Certificate.
3. Valid Arizona State Fingerprint
Clearance Card.
4. Five years of successful
teaching experience in grades K-12
required.
5. Three years of successful
Principal experience in grades K-12
preferred.
6. Structured English Immersion
(SEI) or English as a Second Language
(ESL) endorsement preferred.
7. Effective in communication,
planning, organization, presentation and
leadership skills; able to work with and
motivate others.
8. Demonstrates knowledge and
understanding of a variety of assessment
methods.
9. Demonstrates knowledge and
understanding of effective instructional
strategies and research-based best
practices.
10. Understands the purpose and
specifics of core, supplemental and
intervention programs, and serves as a
guide to the staff to effectively
implement these programs.
11. Understands and interprets
assessment data, both formal and
informal, to inform instructional
decisions.
12. Able to work effectively and
efficiently without constant supervision
and under stressful timelines.
13. Demonstrates proficiency with
technology including presentation
equipment, word processing and desktop
publishing; and a willingness to
innovatively use technology.
14. Strong commitment to continuous
improvement supporting the KUSD mission
and strategic plan.
15. Expertise in working with
colleagues in areas of professional
development, learning teams, new teacher
support and/or instructional planning.
16. Exemplary professional
relationships with teachers,
administrators, parents, students and
community.
Description:
The Title I School Improvement
Specialist is a master teacher and a
communication link for curriculum and
instruction issues between District
administration, other departments and
the Title I school sites. The
specialist assists, supports and coaches
staff members in effective instruction
with emphasis in the curriculum areas of
reading, writing and mathematics to
ensure student success and academic
achievement. The specialist promotes
school improvement by facilitating
training, providing professional
development and ensuring the
implementation of 2016 AZ ELA and Math
Standards, District curriculum, and the
school improvement plan including all
ESEA compliance regulations. The goal
of the School Improvement Specialist is
to build capacity in the use of
effective instruction by providing help
with program monitoring and prescriptive
intervention strategies for all
teachers.
Salary:
$61,651 - $67,901
